How difficult is a scalloped neck to play? And what are the major differences in sound etc. between scalloped and standard?

I've had many scalloped boards and depending on the depth will determine how easy they play.
Here's an aggressive one I had done:

I love them for really fast Yngwie stuff!

Out of curiosity (and maybe a little bit of ignorance)... how does a scalloped neck make the guitar sound different than "unscalloped" necks?

Ideally not too much of a difference in sound... Maybe a little brighter? Mostly a difference of feel. Very Happy

I don't think it's supposed to be any different sound wise. It's supposed to help you shred a la Yngwie. I've never played one, never even seen one in person.

No difference in tone - you play with a lighter touch and notes sound fulll with barely a finger- makes for better speed on those arpeggios.

Yeah, they allow you to play VERY quickly. But it takes time to learn to play one. They are kinda difficult if you have played a regualr neck before. It feels different. Other than that, no real difference.
