| If I am playing a set of notes, and want one of them to ring out, almost a feedback type sound but for just an instant, how is this produced? |

| Hmm I am not sure what you mean so heres my take. When I am playing a set of notes and want one to to have a lil' bite I pick it a lil rougher like you were trying to get a Artificial Harmonic but not quite and use a lil Vibratto some delay or chorus helps too. Hope I answered your question. |

Thanks....I'm not sure what an artificial Harmonic is.
I want the note to have a slight bit of squeal to it.
I know I'm not being real helpful here, but thats my best way to describe it. |

| From what you just described in you second post is an Artificial Harmonic. Hold your pick tight and kind close to the end and pick up and the string lightly touching it with your thumb this will produce an AH. I hear alot of ppl complain that with there amp and or pickups its had to get AH's but that is bull once you have the technique down you can do it on a acoustic guitar. |

I'll start trying this with my thumb, I've been using the left side of my 4th finger for years! _________________ SRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRVSRV

I was just going to say that. You can do it with an acoustic guitar. |

I know this is old but I just saw it. Is this like in the middle of a solo and all of a sudden one note just jumps out with a high pitch squeal? Like some ZZTop solos? I think I've heard it is some Cars songs too? Also, what is a Pinch Harmonic? _________________

Yes it is. A pinch harmonic is the same as a Artificial harmonic. Use the same technique described above and you will be a pro before too long. There is also tap harmonics. Which I have never really practiced much other that just playing around. And after rereading it has reminded me of my buddy StratmanDwight Hes a good dude I wish he would stop by more often. _________________ Summum ius summa iniuria. |
