|
|
Now i know what you're thinking: Really? what on Earth could've happened to bring that about?
well i'll tell you:
the day was June 2nd, 2006 and my old band "The 16 Hour Day" was playing alongside A Lost Cause and The Rewards at a local venue called Academy of Guitar. well all was going well until it was our turn to take the stage...i was setting up and everything went through ok. then halfway through our first song, my input goes out on my 70's reissue. At least that's what i thought it was. but no, that wasn't it, because i motion to the bassist (mike) to keep the groove, and i switch to my ol' standby...a fat strat. well 30 seconds into that, the *Holy Censor, Batman* thing does the SAME thing!! so i say "*Golly Gee* we're lucky this was a jam anyway!" so i figure out that it was the cable leading from my cry baby to the amp! so i chuck it aside and just plug straight into the fender combo that i have (Fender Dyna Touch III Stage 1000).
after that i got really nervous about it maybe happening again.
why did that shake my faith in Fender? because everything except the wah pedal was Fender. Guitar, amp, cables...but i mean in fairness the cable was old and i shoulda known better...but i mean up on stage i thought it was an input on the guitar or the input on the amp...
my faith is now stronger than ever! haha
but you know what really sucks about this?
guys from my old band were there to see if my songs would be any good...which they were...but i mean it was the first song that i had problems on! THE FIRST SONG! Argh...
lol it still pains me to think about it...
but its good to talk about it... |

That kind of situation will happen to anyone at anytime. Embarassing? Of course it is, but shake it off and move on. _________________

Invest in some monster cables... if and when they go out, you just go to GC and get new ones for FREE! _________________ "Have we grown so hard we can't feel right or wrong, or have we grown so cold we just don't care?" - Nave King.

Wow, I'm blind.
I LOVE FoCo!
The closest GC to me is a whopping 5 minutes away, by freeway.
I can ride my bike there in like 45 minutes. _________________ "Have we grown so hard we can't feel right or wrong, or have we grown so cold we just don't care?" - Nave King.

I went to band camp two years in a row at CSU, and it was CRAZY diverse. Maybe I got a jaded perspective from that.
In any case, the CSU campus is the friendliest, most chill, campus I've ever been on. _________________ "Have we grown so hard we can't feel right or wrong, or have we grown so cold we just don't care?" - Nave King.

Gary's an old aquaintance, he used to be half owner of a music store in Denver with my cousin. Gary is Jim Atkin's son, and Chet's nephew. But he studied guitar from Johnny Smith in Colorado Springs and plays that style jazz. He's a monster! _________________ Yer guitar pickin' friend,
