just a short thread... funniest things that happened at a gig? probably not worth while posting a whole thread about it but yeah, post the experiences guys...
1: bands playing along... drummer had too much LSD and falls off the back of his chair while still drumming (his legs were moving while he was flat on his back... funny as) someone picked him up and they continued.
2: all ages gig, under 18s are upstairs (no bar up there) and 18+ are downstairs... some idiot throws a TURD over and hits the bassist in the face - iv never seen so many people vomit at once |

What a mess. Nothing as sweet has happened to me.
Strangest thing I'd say, when I did a gig with a band, is that the self-proclaimed leader and lead guitarist signalled his intention to just quit, or simply stop a song which he didn't think was going well. The rest of the band, myself included ignored. He didn't think we got his cue, so he announced it over the mike to a big crowd, like 300 and maybe 50 to 100 outside the building. Finally he just started swearing into the mike. I said "Like what's the problem man?" He said his amp was broke, a new 4 X 10 Hot Rod Deville. He couldn't get onboard distortion, or the 'dirty channel' for his lead. I told him that we'd been through this at set up time, and that his American Standard Strat wasn't powerful enough to push the distortion. He insisted "No! My amp is fu**ed!" Well, the song stopped, I yanked my cord out, big crackle and hum, plugged into his amp, and away she went with distortion. This caused him to have an absolute swearing fit, into the mike intentionally, and vented to the crowd. God, it was rude.
In the end, it did not matter. The crowd actually thought he was the real Eric Clapton. |

This one time..............at band camp.............
But seriously folks, I was doing this little house gig in between road gigs in the early '80s in a power trio format and the bass player (go figure) had a bit of a drinking problem. We were in the middle of the third set and knew he wouldn't be able to finish the night, so I called a buddy of mine to be on stand by. He wasn't very stable........You know, a bit wobbley and then leaning against the wall. The drummer and I was waiting for him to pass out. Here's the funny part; As he was leaning against the wall, he started to slide down the wall and slid all the way to the floor! I was watching this closely as I was going into my solo and was a bit surprised because he didn't miss a beat and finished the song!
Needless to say, he was done for the night and my buddy finished the gig and replaced him the next night. _________________
