|
|
just been digging about in the garage, and found an old 60's radio - stuffed full of various valves.
my electro harmonix english muff'n runs off 2 valves, so naturally my first thought was "wonder if i could use these valves from the radio in my pedal?"
one of the valves is an EL84, which is the only one i recognised from a guitar/amp point of view. the others are :
EZ80
EABC80
EF80
ECH81
EF85
anybody know if these are any good to use in an amp/my pedal ? at the moment it is using
"glovered 12AY7 cascading into a 12AX7, to produce true Brit-valve sounds that are full of richness and natural saturation"
apparently. _________________ "There is nothing conceptually better than Rock 'N' Roll."

"apparently"
In my short lived quest to go through the 'Misc.' catagory:
Sorry - those tubes will not work in the EH pedal.
The el84 is a power tube, I'm guessing the ez80 is a rectafier, and the
ef80 & ef85 are indeed preamp tubes, they are not of the design used in
the pedal. Neither are the other 2 tubes. So... what did you end up
doing with that old radio? _________________ I provide 3 different kinds of service. Good, fast and cheep. You can only pick 2.
