I've had an original Crybaby for about 5 or 6 years , but the fact that the pedal reduces my high-end has discouraged me from using it. Could that happen from not using strong enough batteries? Should I use a power adapter instead? |

The first thing I would do, is change the batteries.
It you're really losing that much treble, modding to true by-pass won't do any good!
True bypass is the new buzz phrase that is supposed to be the cure all for your tone woes............NOT!
I also have an original Cry Baby wah and had issues with the treble.
I took it to my amp tech and he fixed it.
The pedal has an adjustment on the pot that regulates the tonal output.
So my advise to you is.............1st, change the battery and if that don't do it, take it to a tech and have it adjusted. Good luck. _________________

Well, the point of true bypass is that your tone is untouched when you turn it off. It won't help when the pedal is turned on.
I know what it is, but it's still overrated. _________________ RENT THIS SPACE |

Now that's rich!
I think someone modded me when I was asleep. I know I'm in the "true bypass" mode sometimes. _________________ "I'm not ignorant, I just don't know stuff" |

Look at that Teleman go! Now that's experience! It probably is a battery issue.
My bro has so many wahs and different kinds, but I didn't come here to count. He collects analog and boat anchors, and I like cheap plastic or inexpensive things, for fun, and anti-snob bragging rights. He talks about trim pots inside, and together we make adjustments. So that's another tihing. For Dunlop Cry Baby, the Hendrix model is brighter than the standard. If you added something to your original circuitry to get thet brightness, you would be fine too. Other wahs have come a long way, and many have just tons of features and adjustment.
One last thing, the pots inside the Cry Babies do get tired. I guess people know that. Just thought I'd mention it - dust and dirt too equals resistance. Bad. _________________ Girls Rock!
