OK, I decided it would be cool to get the Rosewood Teles all in the same place at the same time...and this was the result Cool

1969 and 2007 Custom Shop

Nice gang AJ.

Though i have to say a tele dont look right to me with rosewood fingerboards. probably to used to seeing maple though i could get used to them i had to look at all the time (subtle hint).

do they sound any different as i heard some where rosewood sounds different to maple.

keep up the good work AJ.
Very Happy

I have never been able to identify any difference in tone that I could definitely track down to the fretboard material. Confused

I think the deal is more about the way they feel. But I don't prefer either...except when the whole NECK is Rosewood of course... Cool

One thing that IS amazing about these guitars is the huge difference in their weight.

The MIJ Rosewoods are FAR heavier than the 1969 USA and the 2007 Custom Shop. I can only put this down to the probability that they are not as chambered as the USA made guitars. The lightest of the true Rosewoods? The 1969 by a long way Shocked

Very, very cool! I always loved the looks of that George Harrison Tele in the 'Let It Be' special edition book.

Is the '69 a player or is it only a collector? The reason I ask is because it looks like the bridge is not set up properly.

It's mainly a collector, because the original swtch in the guitar is a bit dodgy... Rolling Eyes

Having said that, the bridge is setup for correct intonation. A little unusual the way it ended up, but it is right. Shocked

Nope, it's the MIM "Rosewood", which is a standard Tele with Rose Veneer on it... Embarassed

And now for something completely different....

A 1968 Gibson Melody Maker. This is a serious CUTE guitar, plays and sounds fantastic as well. It is a short scale - about 23", so it's really small and light, but packs a real punch.

Another recent goods inwards.

Fender 1972 P Bass (previously owned by Nick Seymour of Crowded House) Lots of Mojo on this guitar. Plays and sounds awesome.

Yes, I am trying to find out if it was used in any of the Crowded House recordings...

Actually, it's impossible to have one photo of the whole arsenal, indeed it's very difficult to even get most of them in a few photos.

Here's some recent attempts...

The Tele Wall in July

The guitars in racks

Even these photos are out of date now. Rolling Eyes
