If I put the paper out in the sunlight (if we had any ) if would get to almost olympic white.
I think that after the Econocaster debacle, I will finish this one on my own!! |

That's probably a wise decision. _________________ ...all the gray areas are becoming black holes... |

OK fellas, I am ready to start routing the tremolo hole, and I am scared,
can someone measure from the neck pocket to the tremolo hole on their strat just to make sure I have this one located right.
I have measured the scale 25.5 off the neck to the 12th fret and then I should have the same length to the bridge right?
I am just concerned with what I saw J 48 do on his where his bridge was off a half inch.
Remember boys and girls, cut once and measure twice. |

Uhmmm that is usually the way I work. I cut it and then go to fit it and measure it twice wondering how I missed it the first time!!!
Now where is that board stretcher I had laying around here? |

Hello fellas, I thought I would post up on this project as I haven't given any progress for a while.
I finally have decided that I am going with the reverse headstock strat with the low E being the longest string, I have my body template routed out and I am in the process of making the back template (since strats have front and back route outs).
I am going with a vintage tremolo, 6 point that I will probably block at a later date but for now I am looking at doing some dive bombing.
Bit as of right now I am out of action for a while, job has been crazy and the holidays have kept me from working on anything for a while.
And then Monday night I got stupid and tried to use a knife as a pry bar, and had the blade fold down on my index finger.
5 stitches later here is what I have. I partialy severed my tendon that raises your finger up, and I have to see an orthopedic surgeon today to see if it will heal up on its own or is going to need help.
I really am hoping that it is going to help my playing, as it can't get any worse, but for now the build thread is on hold till I get my finger back in action, and oh by the way, I am left handed.

Wow Preacher What the heck were you thinking? I did the same thing once but the blade stopped just before it touched my finger. After I changed my pants, I vowed never to do THAT again! I hope it only affects your playing in a good way as well. I'm with Teleman, is that your freakin' HOUSE? Wow! _________________ "I'm not ignorant, I just don't know stuff" |

I thought the same thing about the house, then realized it's a picture in a magazine. Yup, I could definitely live in that place. Probably belongs to the guy who stitched up Preacher's finga. _________________ Who loves ya, baby?

Is that MY house???
was a nice backdrop though, but if you look close, there is the 2008 designation in the upper left corner, that is my new calander!!
GOOD NEWS!! Ortho doc said I am good to go!! Go back next week and get the stiches out. Now it was a stupid thing to do, but I know that there were higher powers at work. I severed the tendon 70% but the doctor said the finger was working at a normal level as he tried to push it down. And he also said that I "might" get feeling back on that side of the finger. I looked at him and said "feeling?". He said yeah, it will be numb for some time, and I told him I had no numbness. He then explained that the main nerve for your index finger runs down that side and surely I severed it, well I still have feeling and he checked and said "hmmmm, interesting". So I should be good to go, the only bad thing is it is not going to help my playing, I guess I am going to have to practice more.
It is still stiff, but I figure running a few scales down the neck will limber it up!!
And guys I could never live in that house, there are too many windows!! |

That's great news. Maybe the Dr. used Dean Markley strings to sew you up and that'll give you some sort of magical playing powers! You know.....cause it's in the blood stream now. |

Don't think it will help my playing any....
and yes I feel most blessed to be given the thumbs up from the doc!!
So next week the build might be back on!!!!!
Although I am really having a time finding parts for this one,
with the Econocaster I was looking for stuff for free or cheap, this one I really want to be nice and I am having a hard time letting go of the $$$.
We will start with the tremolo bridge and go from there.... |

Sheesh, that was a close one, Preach! God's watchin' over you, son. I reckon He's got more work from that finger in mind for you.
But that is one heck of a way to get a tattoo! _________________ ...all the gray areas are becoming black holes... |
