So Boss has announced their new delay pedal.. its basically a DD-6 with the option of inputting a tap tempo pedal.

I really want the feature of a tap tempo, but if possible, I don't want to have to attach another pedal.

So my question is, does the DD-20 have this built in, or is there a delay pedal that does?

Thanks

Nobody???? Well, let's talk delay pedals in general. What's a good one that's not so expensive. Why are delay pedals higher than other type pedals. Is that Ibanez tone lock any good?

I wonder if there's a pedal that will give you overdrive and delay with one button.

Nobody ?????? Wink Laughing

For what its worth - I currently have a Visual Sound H2o and half of it is
for delay. A plus is the toggle switch that switches from short to long
delay. Although, since I have been gravitating towards BBE products, I have
been eyeing the bbe two-timer - two separate delays in one pedal, and
smaller then the h2o... Theres my random thoughts on delays. Next?!

Ok i'll chime in...

I had a DD-20

Not so great. What ever setting, i.e. tape, normal, ect, your kind of tied into that effect. If you want to do SOS you have to do it in the SOS setting.

So I ditched it for the EHX Stereo Memory man w/ Hazarai.

SOS from any setting and any delay. Whats the point of having a delay if you can't do a loop with the SOS? Mine as well just have a looper or a delay right?

I also thought the DD-20 had to many gimmick effects (warp) and lessened my tone, was to big, not as user friendly, had poor modulation and a poor sound quality than most delay pedals. Did I mention only 4 presets? SMMH 9!

The SMMH was much better in a general all around way because as much as I knock the DD-20 it was still a good pedal.

Crazy, so I came to work at the firestation. I look on Craigslist and this guy has a DOD Ice Box chorus pedal for 15 bucks. I emailed him. He called me right back. He lives about a mile from the station. He just dropped it off!! So now it's Tube Screamer---EH #1 delay---DOD chorus. Looks like I've got a pedal set up.

Those guys over on another forum I frequent, I won't mention any names, cough, cough, gear page, cough, love The Nova Delay.

I never tried it. This is a vain comment but it looks like something you would buy at Radio Shack, not that looks should have anything to do with anything.

Its funny how you have different camps for different gear, you got your Boss guys, your TC Electronics fans ect... I am in the Electro Harmonix camp. Every thing they make seems to be just slightly abnormal but wonderful sounding and useful!

Yes it is. Very amusing.
It seems that some people think we should all have the same guitar, same
amp, same effect(s) otherwise, we are robbing ourselves of tone Rolling Eyes
Tone, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder... at least I think so.

I can't say I'm in a particular manufacturers camp - I have Boss, BBE, EH, &
VS on my pedal board as of right now. Does that make me an effect
manufacturer *One Who Practices the World's Oldest Profession*? Wink

firedude - $15 and he dropped it off? jackpot!

For what its worth I have the DD-7 and it really is a great pedal for the price, tap tempo and all the bells and whistles of much more expensive stuff. I will put in this disclaimer though, as soon as I get a T-rex Replica or maybe even the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo, the DD-7 will be off the pedal board. Until then...decent pedal, decent price, and no complaints here.

I have a Replica and it's beautiful. But even the cork-sniffers at TGP are trading in their Replicas and Memory Lane pedals for the Nova at half the price. The only reason I didn't get a Nova is that I prefer simplicity. The Nova has a bunch of programming options, etc., that I wouldn't use.
