First of all I've been writing and performing songs for the better part of the last 25 years. I'm so wrapped up in my own stuff right now, I don't get a chance to search out new stuff very much. I just got home and was flipping through the channels and happened to come opon an Austin City Limits (I'm so steeped in my unforgiving disreguard for new acts it is almost unconcionable) where a sound and a songwriting talent knocked me out. I'm a big John Prine fan so my ears perked up immediatly to what was coming accross. Night Train by Amos Lee.

If you can get by the drunken hippies yelling woooooooo wooooooooo, and the always annoying stupid meaningless chatter of the crowd who paid to see a live act but can't seem to shut the fu#k up long enough to enjoy the performance (I'm a bitter old bastard that has been playing for these types for a long time) you may enjoy this tune. There, I said it.

Dude, I know exactly what you mean about new acts, and loud audiences. When I get home tomorrow I'll check that out.

I record ACL every week. There are many great new acts on there.

I should clarify that the vid I posted is not from ACL. The ACL crowd is always great to the artists and must be a fantastic venue for them to perform. Cool

Yeah G'man, there are some new acts that I actually do like and ACL is one of the only places around that brings them about. I just can't seem to find the time to check many of them out. Cool
