| I don't have to. I never disputed the fact that Taks are less expensive than Martins. There are lots of brands less expensive than Martin. I was responding to your other statements. |

I like Maton's... Aussie guitars have really interested me lately.
Along with Cole Clark... I played a Cole Clark Strat and a Cole Clark Tele

They are things of beauty... The workmanship on them is outstanding. |

My friends love their Tak's, but they are high end Tak's. I like the guitars too. I have a Martin D-18/Yamaha hybrid my Dad had built to get a more playable neck on a Martin guitar. I have never liked Ovations. I've been playing these things for a long time and I can back my opinion with solid feedback.
EA, listen to Jerry. When you can play well enough to appreciate a $5000 guitar you will understand the subtle differences that mean everything. Until then I want to encourage you to keep pickin' the guitars that you like the feel and sound. I have a $50 Montaya that is my favorite campfire/backyard/jam-beater guitar. I can make that baby sing but nobody else has ever tamed her. "*Holy Censor, Batman* that guitar sounds good" turns to "Thats the biggest POS I've ever put in my hands" when other pickers try. |

| lol. Yeah, like I said, I'm not a big acoustic guy, but I LOVE my Tak. It's the best acoustic in the house. I've played a few good Martins and Taylors, but none like a Tak I played once. It was nice, but quite a hefty price tag. I wish I owned it, but I like mine. lol |

| I'd say Taylor, but there's really not much a difference. |

| MY dad recently purchased a Taylor. It wasn't one of the million dollar ones by any mean, but it sounds amazing. It was like 900, but it's beautiful sounding. It has that nice wood sound, but stays in tune and plays like a charm. A lot of acoutics either jusy sound good, but play like crap, or vise verse. I reccomend Taylor over a Martin. |

| I am a Taylor fanatic, I have 5, a 314koa, 714ce, 614ce, 615Jumbo & an 810. They are nothing like a Martin, in my opinion, Martin is the top guitar for vintage sound & Taylors are tops for modern sound & playability. I want a Martin but I never manage to save up enough for the higher end models. Every time I get $1500-2000 saved up I come across a nice used Taylor that I can't resist. |

I've got a great old Alvarez-Yairi DY-57, and I used to play the heck out of it, but nowadays most of the time it sits in its case, unplayed and unloved. I'm just become an electric guitar freak, I guess...

I have one Taylor, a 214. The humble 214 has always been my favorite Taylor as it seems a bit darker than some Taylors. I lean toward Martin; I like the big bottom and growl. I dig the CSN - Neil Young boom. I have 4 Martins now but I've had as many as 6. I like the warmth and depth more than I like the bright. Just my opinion (worth about $.00000000000000002).
The woodpile.........
